Understanding the English Language Requirements

The English language requirements for the Subclass 482 Visa are in place to ensure that overseas workers can effectively communicate with other workers and integrate into the Australian workforce. The specific requirements vary depending on the nominated occupation and the visa stream.

Accepted English Language Tests

Applicants can demonstrate their English proficiency through various tests, each evaluating different language skills. These include:

  1. International English Language Testing System (IELTS)

  2. Test of English as a Foreign Language Internet-Based Test (TOEFL iBT)

o   If you are employed by an overseas business, nominated to work in Australia by the business or its associated entity, and are guaranteed to receive annual earnings of at least AUD96,400.

o   Your nominated occupation in Australia involves work at a diplomatic or consular mission of another country or an office of the Authorities of Taiwan.
