NSW now inviting Subclass 491 applicants

The New South Wales (NSW) Government is now accepting applications for the Skilled Work Regional (provisional) Subclass 491 visa program through Pathway 1. This pathway is designed for individuals who possess a well-established work history with a regional employer in NSW.

The primary objective of Pathway 1 is to support applicants who are already making significant contributions to regional NSW and have been actively engaged in regional work for a continuous period of at least 12 months.

Distinct from other pathways, Pathway 1 entails additional criteria, including:

  1. The applicant must presently reside and work in a designated regional area of NSW, and this residency and employment status must have been maintained for the preceding 12 months.

  2. Qualifying skilled employment within the twelve months leading up to the application must have been with a single regional NSW-based employer, and the occupation must be nominated or closely related.

  3. The occupation must be recognised as a skilled occupation by NSW.

  4. The position must offer a minimum salary equal to or exceeding the Temporary Skilled Migration Income Threshold (TSMIT) of $70,000, (prorated if the employment is less than 38 hours per week.)

If you receive a nomination by the NSW Government for the 491 visa, this will give you an additional 15 points on the points test, and almost guarantee your chance of receiving an invitation to apply for the visa!
