TSMIT increased from 1 July, 2024.
Starting July 1, the minimum salary threshold (TSMIT) for sponsoring an overseas skilled worker will rise from $70,000 to $73,150, excluding superannuation. Be aware that you may need to offer a higher salary based on the Australian market rate for the specific position.
For new nomination applications submitted after July 1, 2024, the salary must meet the new TSMIT or the annual market salary rate, whichever is higher. This change does not affect existing visa holders or nominations lodged before this date. This update follows the Government's commitments made at the Jobs and Skills Summit in September 2022.
The impact on sectors already facing challenges from the 2023 increase and ongoing skill shortages is expected to be significant.
