Choosing the Right Course & Institution
Your study journey begins with selecting a registered course and institution on the CRICOS (Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students). The course you choose must align with your long-term career or migration goals.
Receiving a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE)
Once you’ve been accepted, your education provider will issue a CoE. This is essential for your visa application.
Meeting Visa Requirements
The Department of Home Affairs requires students to satisfy several conditions, including:
- Genuine Student (GS) requirement – demonstrating your genuine intention to study in Australia for educational purposes.
- Financial capacity – showing evidence that you can cover tuition fees, living expenses, and travel costs.
- English language proficiency – via recognised tests such as IELTS, PTE, or TOEFL, unless exempt.
- Health insurance – all students must have Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC).
- Health and character checks – including medical examinations and police clearances if required.
Visa Lodgement
The application is lodged online with supporting documents, including your CoE, financial evidence, English test results, and OSHC.
Visa Decision
Once processed, you will receive your visa grant notification, allowing you to commence your studies in Australia.
